The Awakening of a Faerie Shaman

This is my journey to wholeness as I come to a new awareness of my mystical nature. My experential process is followed as my spirit lives life as a Gay Positive person.

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

I was born and raised in Saint John New Brunswick, moved to Victoria BC in 1993 and finally to Vancouver in 1998. During my early years I experienced the world as a scary place. My Mother and Father had a troubled marriage, so much so that violence would manifest itself both physically and verbally. My Father would take his anger out on me from time to time. I was also initiated into sexual activity by a neighbor when I was quite young. Death and illness were also a part of my early youth because my Father had heart trouble and had several heart attacks, the last one killing him. My Grandmother moved in with us and she also became ill. Most of the time she lived with us, she was a semi-invalid. By this time, I knew I loved sex, ( I was thirteen), and to balance the fear I would go looking for sex in public. I would inevitably find it, although it became more available by the time I was sixteen. I was trapped in a place of fear and shame. I stayed in the closet until after my Mother died in 1993.

Back from the Wars

It has been some time since I posted an entry for the faerieshaman. Other blogs have impressed me so much, I have had second thoughts about continuing. Then I realized I am, essentially, writing this blog for myself. I am tired of being a passive recipient of news and sound bites from sources with a corporate agenda. Blogs have been a pleasant method of hearing from others like me, who are putting themselves forward and being involved in the observations and happenings in their communities and world.

I have been going through a depression so I have not been able to write. I hope to take posting up again. So here is to my return.

Stuart Dummit said...: Glad that you're back. I just found your blog and, besides being a good writer, you've got some interesting things to write about! Keep it up and know that (for the most part) depression is temporary. It's that ol' yin/yang thang.
