Return from Brietenbush

I have returned from a transforming 5 days at Brietenbush with my faerie-kin! I soaked in the Hot Springs, witnessed terrific drag and genderblending artists and met the macho leather faeries, proving the healing bonds of faerie spirit!

I had my first flogging and went back for more! I enjoyed my first authentic experience of S and M! I crossed the threshold and went beyond the gate. I know I have transformed in ways I will not know for some days yet! I left the land with another faerie who gave thanks to the land and to creator for the time at Breitenbush. We both knew some powerful work had been done at this gathering!

I heard about the ways of the ancesors of this land and I have come to understand the way of the ancestors was also the belief of my ancestors! The ancient peoples of Northern Europe, most lkely had belief systems much more like our native kin than the stilted rigour the Romans have made out of the simple teachings of a Shamanic Jesus!

I, too, give thanks to Creator and to the land, our Mother Earth, and I put out a call for all my gay kin to come and join the healing place. We must heal ourselves so we can help to save our Mother Earth. We must, once again, be strong enough to be the gatekeepers.

Be Blessed,

Faerieshaman

My First Sweat at the Rainbow Lodge

Yesterday, I experienced my first sweat. It was an interesting process, but I am not sure whether or not it was the most significant experience I have ever had.

I have to wonder though........

I called on my ancestors and the ancestors of my partner to be present. I arrived home to find Michael, my partner, sipping wine from a glass that belonged to his grandmother. He said, he had been thinking of her all day!

So I won't dismiss the sweat lodge experience or the power of the call I sent out to the ancestors.

Thanks to my ancestors and Michael's ancestors for being present!

SAME SEX WITH STEPHEN HARPER AND VIC TOEWS

I am amazed and delighted. Paul Martin, the dithering Prime Minister, and Erwin Cotler, the erudite and intellectually present, Minister of Justice have unequivicably trumped Conservative Leader Stephen Harper and his minion, Vic Toews, Conservative Justice critic.

Cotler's reasoned and impartial presentation of the thinking behind the same sex marriage legislation has prompted this reply from Vic Toews as he lamented before the news cameras. "Every time religion and freedom of rights come up against one another, freedom of rights trumps!" Bravo, well said, Mr. Toews! Now all you have to do is accept what you yourself admitted. Freedom of rights always trumps religion.

This is essential in a country where church and state are seperate! Otherwise we would have to figure out which religion trumps over what other religion. The Conservatives, Stephen Harper and the other narrow minded folllowers of this argument against same sex marriage believe religion should trump freedom of rights, especially gay and lesbian rights. It is obvious, these intellectual dwarfs fail to see that if this is the case; then why should "their Judeo-Christian religion" be the one to trump over the Muslim community or the Jewish community or the Sikh community? Do they really want to go down this road in a multi-religious and yes, spiritual country like Canada? If they do, the least of their worries would be polygamy!

The reasoning behind the conservative reaction to this legislation is achieving its proper goal, it is showing the main attributes of conservative party of canada are parochial, self-centred (fundamentalist christian), and unable to engage intellectual dialogue and a foreshadowing of an inabiltity to govern a multi-ethnic, multi-religious/ spiritual, bilingual, bicultural and globally engaged population.

My suggestion to Stephen Harper and Vic Toews support the same sex legislation and admit the world has changed faster than you would have wanted or vote against it and then cause the fall of the Liberal government. My solid guess is Canadians will, once again, return the Liberals. If perchance, you do manage to form a minority government and then you tamper with the same sex legislation rather than tackling the issues of governing with a modicum of vision, you too, will be a Joe Clark term government. I know the universe will work its way and deal with you appropriately.
