The Moral High Road?

I do not believe religion and morality belong together. I have learned that the Hebrew Scriptures were written decrying the lack of justice between humanity and G-d, humanity and its leaders and amoungst all of us in society. The Christian scriptures, as well, opined about our lack of humanity when it comes to dealing with others in justice and truth.

So in this enlightened age, as right wingers in Canada scream about the harm done to them if same sex marriage is condoned by law, it might be useful to point to their lack of consistency in how their support of some economic ventures really do operate in regards to their own standards of morality! It must hurt them tremendously to realize that First nations spirituality and the other earth based religions and even some of us in the gay community have better values than they do. So I won't enter into a competition with them on this point, but I will centre myself and calmly tell any Conservative, nee Reform, nee Alliance that the "economic violence" done by structures they support, removes them from any discussion. Read the following, and my message will be somewhat more clearly understood.
